One Step at a Time
Hello everyone,
Welcome to the August edition of the Fight With Fletcher Newsletter.
As always, thank you for taking the time to follow my journey. Whether you've prayed for me, donated, attended my benefit concert, listened to my podcast, read my blog, shared my story, or simply checked in on me, your support has meant more than words can express.
This past month has been filled with challenges, milestones, and reasons to remain hopeful.
💙 Encouraging News
One of the biggest moments this month was receiving encouraging news from my latest PET scan.
The scan showed that my liver metastases have decreased in both size and metabolic activity, with no new areas of cancer identified. While my battle with Stage IV colon cancer continues, this was an encouraging reminder that progress is possible.
Every scan comes with uncertainty, but I'm grateful for this positive step forward.
Thank you to everyone who has continued praying for me and supporting me throughout this journey.
🎶 Reflecting on the Fight With Fletcher Festival
Although several weeks have passed since the Fight With Fletcher Benefit Concert, I continue reflecting on what an incredible day it was.
Watching musicians, family, friends, volunteers, sponsors, and supporters come together reminded me just how powerful community can be.
The concert wasn't just about raising awareness—it was about creating hope, celebrating resilience, and proving that no one has to fight alone.
If you haven't yet read my reflections from the concert, I'd love for you to check them out:

I truly hope this is only the beginning of many future Fight With Fletcher events.

🌐 Growing Fight With Fletcher
One of my biggest goals this year has been continuing to grow FightWithFletcher.com into something much bigger than a personal website.
I hope it becomes a home for:
My cancer journey
Advocacy
Public speaking
My podcast
Blog articles
Community events
Future nonprofit initiatives
Resources that inspire hope and resilience
If you haven't explored the website recently, I invite you to take a look.
📢 Continuing My Advocacy
This month also brought significant news for survivors of the troubled teen industry.
Utah ordered the final Provo Canyon School campus to shut down after revoking its license over serious safety and compliance failures. The decision follows years of survivor testimony and advocacy, including the work of Paris Hilton, who brought national attention to her experiences through her documentary This Is Paris, her memoir, and her legislative advocacy.
As someone who spent nearly four years in residential treatment programs at Logan River Academy and Frederic L. Chamberlain International School, this news was deeply meaningful to me. It reinforced why I continue speaking out for stronger protections, greater accountability, and a future where every child is treated with dignity and compassion.
🌞 Finding Joy Between Treatments
Cancer has taught me something I never expected.
Some of life's greatest moments aren't necessarily the biggest ones.
They're often the simplest.
This month included:
Celebrating America's 250th anniversary in Philadelphia
Spending time with friends
Visiting New York City and Long Island
Attending community events
Continuing to build Fight With Fletcher
Appreciating every opportunity to simply enjoy life between treatments
These moments remind me that even while fighting cancer, life continues.
